Do I have to use CoCard/Brownstone Recovery to file a claim?
No. You can file a claim on your own at no charge. You can do this by working with the official settlement administrator. For more information, contact details and no-cost assistance, visit https://www.paymentcardsettlement.com/.
You weren’t my credit card processor. Can I still use you to file a claim?
Yes. This service is independent of who you are/were processing with.
I have multiple locations. Do I have to file a claim for every location?
It depends.
Filing a claim through us only requires an EIN number. So if you only one (1) EIN number is used for all locations, then you only have to file one claim.
If you have multiple EIN numbers, then you will need to file a claim for each EIN number.
I’ve already filed a claim but your rate is better. Can I file with you?
Yes. At some point in the process, if you have more than one claim for the same EIN number, you will be contacted so you can choose which claim you want to work with.
I started processing in 2020. Am I still eligible for the settlement?
No. The settlement is for those persons or businesses that accepted Visa and/or MasterCard in the U.S. at any time between January 1, 2004 and January 25, 2019.
I’m a procrastinator. When do I absolutely have to have the claim completed by?
February 4, 2025
